Dorn's playful abstract illustrations, featured in the packaging, draw inspiration from the historic fire rituals central to New Year celebrations worldwide.

Hogmanay, pronounced "hog·muh·nei," is Scotland's famous New Year's Eve celebration. Erica Dorn's bespoke designs unveil some of the distinctive customs associated with Scotland's Hogmanay, including the tradition of "first footing." In this tradition, it's considered good luck for a dark-haired visitor to be the first person to cross a home's threshold after midnight. The "first footer" typically brings three symbolic gifts: shortbread, whisky, and coal for the fire. Each gift symbolizes bringing comfort and happiness to the household for the upcoming year. Notably, the whisky incorporates the essence of shortbread.

A Night on Earth in Scotland is crafted from a selection of The Macallan's exceptional American and European oak sherry seasoned casks, complemented by American ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a rich, sweet whisky reminiscent of shortbread, accentuated with festive hints of dried orange and spice.

Aroma: Vanilla, butter richness, baked apple, baking biscuits, plum, and almond.
